Monica Key was born in 1945 and has lived and worked in various parts of England and Wales before moving to Scotland in 1999.

Working in an Art Gallery stimulated her interest in Art and after a period of teaching Arts and Crafts she spent 10 years working as an Illustrator for a large Architectural Practise in Milton Keynes prior to moving to Scotland.

Since settling in Moray Alwyn has been able to devote more time to developing her techniques in a variety of media and is at present working principally in oils. Over the years she has received some tuition but is mainly self-taught. Her work has been exhibited locally and received commendations.

Alwyn focuses on the landscapes and coastal areas of Scotland capturing the atmosphere and the changing moods of the landscape by sympathetic use of colour, light and texture within her paintings
